Things to See & Do in Donegal Town
Donegal Town has a wide range of sights and sounds to enjoy
Donegal Town is an easy walk from the hostel. Here you can visit Donegal Castle that was the home of the ruling O’Donnell family until the ‘Flight of the Earls’ in 1607.
Another attraction in the town is the Waterbus offering a tour of Donegal Bay. You can also visit the ruins of the old abbey and at nearby Lough Eske enjoy scenic walks in the shadow of the Blue Stack Mountains.
The Blue Stack Mountains offer great hillwalking opprtunities. Further afield are the spectacular cliffs at Slieve League and Glenveigh National Park along with many more scenic locations.
